Fight camp changes the equation
Training volume, intensity, sparring, strength work, conditioning, travel, and sleep can all change quickly during camp. Your recovery strategy should change with the workload.
Tell your therapist the schedule
A bodywork session before a major sparring day may have a different purpose from a recovery session after hard training. Give your practitioner context so treatment can be adapted.
Do not confuse intensity with effectiveness
A very aggressive treatment is not automatically better. Athletes need to recover, not simply accumulate more stress on already-loaded tissues.
Use the basics first
Sleep, adequate food and fluids, sensible programming, and rest days are foundational. Massage and manual osteopathic therapy should complement—not replace—those fundamentals.
Plan instead of reacting
Book ahead during camp so recovery becomes part of the schedule. Golden Palm can build treatment around the demands you describe.
